Location: Local shop (Spicer, MN) with travel to various sites as needed About the Position: As a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic with our company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our construction fleet. This position involves diagnosing and repairing a broad range of heavy to medium-sized construction equipment. Based out of our local facility, you will also travel to multiple project sites for onsite repairs. Key Responsibilities: * Equipment Inspection and Operation: Conduct thorough inspections and operate equipment to identify necessary repairs. * Problem-Solving: Collaborate with supervisors and peers to discuss and resolve equipment issues. * Maintenance and Repair: Perform repairs, replacements, calibrations, adjustments, and rebuilds on various equipment components. * Quality Control: Test equipment post-repair to ensure they are operating correctly. * Routine Servicing: Manage fluid changes and lubrication, replace worn parts, and complete regular service and maintenance tasks. * Welding and Fabrication: Undertake welding and fabrication tasks as required. * Technical Proficiency: Stay updated with equipment manuals and service bulletins and attend relevant training sessions. * Logistics Support: Assist in ordering parts, materials, and supplies for maintenance and repairs. * Documentation: Accurately record details of work performed, time spent, and materials used. Qualifications and Skills: * Education: 2-year AAS degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent experience. * Experience: Prior mechanical experience on heavy equipment, particularly asphalt plant equipment, preferred. * Certifications: Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is advantageous. * Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities. * Safety: Committed adherence to all safety regulations and personal protection equipment requirements. * Travel: Willingness to travel within Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and Eastern Dakotas. Work Environment and Physical Demands: * Perform physical activities such as walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and stretching. * Capable of handling objects up to 50 pounds. * Work in outdoor conditions across various weather scenarios. * Frequent travel and the willingness to work extended or overtime hours as needed.
