Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Rochester, New York

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk role within the healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry. The role is based in Rochester, New York and will be instrumental in handling various accounting tasks related to accounts payable in our team.

Responsibilities:

• Handle administrative and clerical tasks within the AP/Finance Department, ensuring daily processes and controls are carried out accurately and in a timely manner.

• Uphold compliance with company policies in all activities.

• Provide quality customer service to internal business partners, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly.

• Assist with internal and external audits as required.

• Manage daily department mail, including opening, sorting, and distributing.

• Organize, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and other documents for easy reference and retrieval.

• Verify, log, and mail checks, ensuring special handling where necessary.

• Execute and manage special projects as assigned.

• Use MS Excel proficiently for various tasks including but not limited to data entry, analysis, and reporting.

• Utilize your Accounts Payable (AP) skills to perform duties with accuracy and efficiency. Requirements • Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; higher education in finance or accounting is preferred.

• Have proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and best practices.

• Show demonstrable experience in a similar role within the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industry.

• Exhibit strong knowledge of and skill in using MS Excel for data entry and financial reporting.

• Showcase excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

• Display strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Show an understanding of confidentiality and data protection matters.

• Prove the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

• Have knowledge of general accounting principles.

• Exhibit problem-solving skills to resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.

• Be willing to continuously improve and learn new accounting procedures and regulations.

• Show the ability to handle a high volume of invoices and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Possess strong organizational and administrative skills.
