Army Installation Management Command Custodial Worker (CYS) NA-02 in Monterey, California

Summary This position is with MWR at Presidio of Monterey, CA. Incumbent will primarily perform duties at Child and Youth services activities, but may be required to work in other activities as needed. Management may assign staff to locations as mission requires. This announcement is open and continuous; closing 08/19/2024 or till position is filled. Bi-weekly reviews and lists sent to management starting 14 May 2024; additional lists may be sent at management request. Responsibilities Prepares and delivers sanitizing bleach solution for use in classrooms, sanitizes toys that have been handled by children, replenishes classroom supplies when required, delivers program supplies and materials to classrooms, etc Empties diaper pails and/or trash, returns food carts to the kitchen after meals and snacks, and cleans up after classroom accidents (child illness and toileting, water on floor, etc) which may pose a threat to child safety May be required to clean floors and tables after meals and snacks. Provides routine light cleaning/dusting of classrooms/activity areas and materials as required Picks up soiled linens from classroom and carts them to the laundry room. Washes and dries linens and towels using standard, household grade laundry machine and dryer; returns clean linens to classrooms Sweeps/mops using standard equipment such as brooms and vacuum cleaners. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to perform the duties described above without more than normal supervision. Must be able to dilute and use various cleaning and sanitizing solutions to disinfect items and/or remove different types of stains on varying surfaces. Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order Ability to follow instructions Must be able to speak and understand English. Ability to use and maintain required tools and equipment (vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops) If providing a resume, the information provided on your resume should be clear and specific. Additional Information Area of Consideration: The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is the commuting area (50 miles) of Presidio of Monterey. Commuting area is defined as Monterey County, Santa Cruz County, San Benito County California. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
