ASM Global Changeover Crew-14 in Knoxville, Tennessee

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for full and part time Operations Crew member for ASM/Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum. Under general supervision, Operations Crew members will provide general labor, help with conversions of the facility to prepare for events, and assist with general cleaning/maintenance. The Operations Crew is a vital component of the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists with conversions for events

  • Follows directions of supervisors; sets up and breaks down stages, seating, tables, ramps, etc.

  • Assists with fixing seats, grounds clean up, snow removal, etc.

  • Performs light cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned.

  • Follows all safety precautions and emergency procedures established at the facility. Reports any safety and damage concerns to the Manager.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Operational knowledge of tools and equipment.

    Skills and Abilities

  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills necessary.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision

  • Desire to work hard to produce consistent, quality results.

  • Must have ability to take/follow directions and remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow through with a "can do" attitude.

  • Must be able to pass criminal background and possess a valid driver's license.

  • Must be able to maintain PCI compliance.

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Experience operating a forklift, scissor lift or other similar heavy machinery

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other basic computer skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.

  • The employee is required to walk/stand extensively, kneel, climb to high walkways, balance, and maneuver to all areas of the facility.

  • The employee must frequently move and/or lift 30 -- 50 lbs. (some heavier lifts are team lifts).

  • May have some exposure to adverse conditions (inside and outside of the building)

  • Must be able to hear and speak to use a two-way radio.

Late Policy

Punctuality, flexibility, and availability are of utmost importance as events can vary in scope and detail. This requires staff to maintain an open line of communication with their coworkers and managers to fulfill their duties and responsibilities. Offenses will be dealt with in accordance with a three-strike rule. The first offense will result in a verbal warning, followed by a second verbal and written warning, and then manager follow-ups. This rule will not be negotiable. If offenses escalate to the third strike, the individual may be subject to demotion or termination, unless there is a reasonable explanation for the escalated absences. This is subject to departmental discretion.
