Staff Nurse Weekender, UHS Wilson Medical Center United Health Services is seeking a Staff Nurse Weekender to join our Med Surg ST 4 department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible. Shift: All Shifts

Salary range:

$37.45 - $59.38 per hour, depending on experience. Staff Nurse Weekender / Overview Weekender RNs will work Friday night through Tuesday morning working either 4/8 hour shifts or 2/12's and an 8 or 3/12 hour shifts each weekend while being paid for 40 or 44 hours. The goal of this program is to create predictable staffing schedules for weekend shifts. While nurses in this program can still pick up extra weekday hours, they will primarily work weekend shifts.

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services and Nursing Division policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, the Emergency Nursing Association Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated.

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.

  • Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.

  • PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Infection Control policies.
