Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Island Park, New York

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper in Island Park, New York. This role is central to our operations, requiring you to handle the full spectrum of financial operations within our telecom provider business. You will be involved in everything from payroll and accounts payable/receivable to budget preparation and financial forecasting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger postings

• Prepare financial statements and ensure accurate allocation of costs to various projects and departments

• Manage all aspects of union payroll, including the correct application of union rules and retirement & benefit fund contributions

• Undertake all human resources duties, such as staff recruitment, training, and labor law compliance

• Conduct internal audits regularly to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards

• Perform month-end closing activities and prepare regular reports for senior management, presenting the company’s financial status and forecasts

• Handle budget preparation, financial forecasting, and risk analysis

• Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow reports

• Engage with external auditors and manage the audit process

• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting and financial management systems

• Operate Accounting Software Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft Outlook, and ADP - Financial Services proficiently

• Oversee accounting functions, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and billing functions Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, and Microsoft Outlook

• Thorough understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Capability in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Expertise in managing Billing Functions

• Ability to work independently and take full charge of bookkeeping responsibilities

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Relevant certification or degree in accounting or finance is desirable

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
