Army Installation Management Command Recreation Aid (Trainee-Lifeguard) NF-01 in Fort Carson, Colorado

Summary This position is located at Fort Carson MWR Recreational Pools. Responsibilities Works under close supervision wherein the work is closely reviewed/monitored and detailed guidance provided. Must participate in all required training (emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations). Mandatory certifications must be complete within 30 calendar days of employment, after which the incumbent will be reassigned to lifeguard duties at an aquatic facility. Training includes lifeguarding, First Aid (American Red Cross or equivalent like Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS) and American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional rescuer or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED). For Water Parks upgrade the certification to: 'Waterpark Lifeguarding and First Aid; CPR/PR/AED' (American Red Cross) For facilities using Oxygen Administration, the Oxygen Administration certification (American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration" or equivalent training like from the Fire Department) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must be able to obtain within 30 days and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguarding First Aid and CPR/AED from a nationally recognized agency. When facilities use Automated External Defibrillator "AED's" and Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the following is required: American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates AED certification. American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration" certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates Oxygen Administration certification. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
