Baylor Scott & White Health Senior Foundation Officer - Philanthropic Strategy and Communications in Dallas, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Officer, Philanthropic Strategy and Communications will support the team of fundraising professionals at Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation, which raises philanthropic support for Texas’s largest not-for-profit healthcare system, Baylor Scott & White Health. The position will drive the development and execution of various fundraising strategies, create compelling written content and presentations, and manage projects that contribute to Foundation priorities. This position leads philanthropic strategy for health system departments by collaborating with key stakeholders, identifying critical needs across the organization and building out resources to advance fundraising efforts addressing health system priorities. This highly collaborative role interfaces with executive and clinical leaders and a variety of internal and external stakeholders, managing important relationships with a diverse group of partners. This individual also serves as a valuable collaborator with the Foundation’s team of major gift officers by equipping the team with strategic direction and tools to present compelling fundraising opportunities to prospective donors. The core responsibilities of this role include extensive project management, written content creation, relationship management, philanthropic strategy and verbal/written communication. It is a multifaceted role that requires the ability to analyze complex data and develop strong, strategic insights, plans and communications to advance fundraising initiatives for Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Drive philanthropic strategy for health system departments by collaborating with key stakeholders to identify fundraising needs and develop resources that highlight philanthropic opportunities for donors.

  • Create tools that promote fundraising priorities, programs and key initiatives, as well as demonstrate the impact of philanthropy to internal and external audiences.

  • Manage complex, cross-team projects that support Foundation priorities, communicating action items, statuses and potential issues/risks appropriately throughout projects.

  • Support major gift officers by serving as a strategic thought partner on donor engagement strategies and preparing customized resources to support donor cultivation and major solicitations.

  • Write custom fundraising proposals for individual prospects and private foundations.

  • Prepare compelling presentations for both internal and external meetings and special events.

  • Build and maintain effective knowledge management for fundraising tools and resources.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for fundraising needs and a liaison between key stakeholders, gathering information and sharing pertinent updates frequently across teams.

  • Support philanthropic campaigns and special fundraising projects as needed through project management, presentation development and content creation.

  • Manage and/or support programming, communications and execution of board events.

  • Oversee gift documentation processes, drafting gift agreements for major contributions.

  • Manage budget and track expenses.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, journalism, marketing, non-profit studies or other related disciplines from an accredited college or university.

  • Effective project manager with ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and apply strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent communicator with demonstrated strengths in writing and crafting compelling written content and communications.

  • Curious learner who loves research, actively seeks to understand nuances and is willing to ask probing questions to explore new ideas covering a wide range of topics.

  • Proven ability to implement new initiatives, measure and discern progress and adjust to maximize results.

  • Highly collaborative, proactively builds and grows relationships and gains alignment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.

  • Experience working in Microsoft Office 365 Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

  • EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience
