Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO), an LLC of Bechtel, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve asShafts & Openings Maintenance - Fabrication/Bulkhead Crewto join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

The successful candidate will perform maintenance, fabrication, and erection of underground bulkheads. Perform varied repair tasks on facility equipment. Operate equipment that may be used including cutting torches, welders, chop saws and associated equipment used to fabricate metal structures. Operate forklifts and materials handling equipment used to transport or configure equipment and materials to support the assigned work. Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and policies; conduct frequent inspections of work area to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained. Candidate will also be required to assist with inspections, maintenance and repairs of specialized shaft facilities and shaft structures. Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test to qualify to wear and work in a respirator.

This is a USW Bargaining Unit Position

Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and completed applications are the means of determination.

• High School Graduate or Equivalency is mandatory.

• One (1) year of welding experience with demonstrated knowledge/proficiency of Acetylene cutting and Arc welding.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Filled with SIMCO USW membership first, according to CBA, before other candidate considerations.

Pay Rate is $37.74 per hour.
