Job Summary:

Oversees and manages the clinical education program for physical therapist assistant students. Establishes positive relationships with clinical sites and clinical instructors to ensure exceptional experiential learning. Educates and evaluates students throughout clinical rotations. Teaches didactic courses in areas of clinical expertise. 

Essential Functions:

•  Assists Program Director with development of comprehensive clinical education program. •  Cultivates and supports collaborative clinical site partnerships. •  Serves as liaison between academic program and clinical sites. •  Coordinates impactful student placements. •  Ensures current formal agreements are in place. •  Conducts site visits to monitor and support student progress. •  Oversees student evaluation of clinical sites and instructors. •  Cultivates professional development and clinical education opportunities for clinical faculty. •  Represents program interests by actively participating in professional organizations which inform clinical education policies and practices. •  Teaches didactic courses in areas of expertise. •  Employs contemporary teaching approaches to facilitate student learning. •  Mentors students and advises student organizations. •  Represents program by participating in admissions events and community outreach. •  Maintains timely and accurate student records in accordance with institutional and accreditation standards. •  Contributes to ongoing program assessment and improvement initiatives. •  Assists with new faculty orientation and mentoring. •  Participates in college governance by attending departmental, divisional, and college-wide meetings and serving on committees and/or task forces. •  Participates in annual graduation events. •  Pursues professional development opportunities to remain current in clinical and instructional best practices. •  Models the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct. •  Maintains professional licensure.

Accountabilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Dean of Health Sciences, faculty members are responsible for providing quality instruction, continuous program improvement, and academic support services. Interacts with Registrar, Financial Aid, and other college personnel to promote and achieve student success. Performs all duties with integrity in alignment with program, institutional, and accreditation policies, processes, and standards.

Job Specifications:

• Minimum of an Associate's degree and holds an active, unrestricted PT license or PTA license/certification in the United States. • Minimum of 3 years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical practice. •  Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice as a Site Coordinator of Clinical Education (SCCE ) and/or Clinical Instructor (CI) or 2 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapy education program. •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
